Bowery Farming, headquartered in New York, operates one of the largest and most innovative vertical farms in the United States, located in Kearny, New Jersey. This company is at the forefront of transforming the farm-to-store supply chain by growing a variety of crops such as leafy greens, herbs, and other vegetables in a controlled, indoor environment using vertical farming techniques. Bowery Farming leverages advanced technology including AI, robotics, and sensors to optimize growth conditions and crop health, significantly reducing the use of water and eliminating the need for pesticides​.

For Bowery Farming's facility in Kearny, New Jersey, we provided comprehensive design and installation services for their irrigation, fertigation, water treatment, and control systems. Our expertise enabled the implementation of a highly efficient system that supports the indoor vertical farming operations by ensuring precise water and nutrient delivery, essential for the growth of healthy crops in a controlled environment. Wilder Fields, based in Calumet City, Illinois, is a cutting-edge vertical farm that specializes in producing a wide range of fresh, safe, and sustainably grown microgreens and salads. Utilizing a repurposed 135,000 square-foot facility, originally a Super Target store, Wilder Fields operates under a highly controlled indoor environment that employs advanced robotics, artificial intelligence, and hydroponic systems. This setup allows them to produce high-quality greens with significantly reduced water and energy consumption, making their operations both eco-friendly and efficient. Wilder Fields is noted for transforming local food systems by reducing the supply chain length and delivering fresh produce rapidly to the nearby markets.​

For the Wilder Fields facility in Calumet City, we provided a comprehensive design and installation service for their irrigation, fertigation, water treatment, controls, and lighting systems. Our role was crucial in setting up the environmental controls that support their vertically farmed crops, ensuring that the growth conditions are optimal throughout the year. This multi-discipline project encompassed the design and installation of advanced irrigation, hydronic heating, process water, and water treatment systems, all tailored to meet the unique needs of Syngenta's cutting-edge research and development facilities.

Syngenta Flowers is renowned for its dedication to enhancing biodiversity and introducing environmentally sound practices into its operations. Our project focused on providing Syngenta with a comprehensive system that not only supports optimal plant growth and health but also aligns with their goals for environmental sustainability. The irrigation system ensures precise water management, crucial for the development of healthy plants while minimizing water wastage. The hydronic heating system provides consistent, reliable temperature control, essential for year-round growing conditions.

We're proud to highlight our collaboration with Stanford University and our engineering partner, Biothem Solutions, on a cutting-edge project designed to enhance plant research capabilities. Our team developed and installed a state-of-the-art multizone hydronic heating and chilled water system, specifically tailored to support the university's advanced plant research facility.

This sophisticated system allows for precise temperature control across multiple research zones, facilitating a variety of climate conditions essential for studying plant biology under different environmental stresses. By integrating Biothem Solutions’ innovative engineering techniques with our robust installation expertise, we were able to deliver a system that not only meets the exacting research standards of Stanford but also pushes the boundaries of agricultural research infrastructure.

The installation has been a pivotal step in enabling Stanford's researchers to conduct their experiments with greater accuracy and efficiency. For the Iron Ox project in Lockhart, Texas, we partnered with this innovative ag-tech company renowned for integrating robotics and AI into sustainable farming practices. Our project involved the installation of advanced irrigation systems and the design and implementation of water treatment and control mechanisms. This installation supports Iron Ox’s 535,000 square-foot indoor hydroponic farm, one of the largest of its kind, designed to optimize water usage and enhance crop quality through precise environmental control.

Iron Ox's facility in Lockhart is pivotal in their mission to revolutionize agriculture by increasing efficiency and reducing the environmental footprint. By utilizing robotics to handle and monitor crops, and AI to optimize growing conditions, Iron Ox aims to produce fresh, local produce for the Texas community efficiently and sustainably. Our role in setting up critical water management systems was crucial in ensuring that the high standards for sustainability and efficiency set by Iron Ox were met, enabling them to grow a variety of leafy greens, herbs, and other crops with minimal environmental impact​.

We recently completed an extensive project for Wonderful Citrus in Visalia, California. This project involved installing a comprehensive heating system across eight zones of controlled hydronic heating tailored for their easy peel mandarin propagation and hardening off facilities. The project was a collaborative effort involving Voeksd Inc, Argus Controls, and Biotherm. This initiative was successfully completed both under the allocated timeline and budget, highlighting our commitment to efficiency and excellence in project execution.

We recently completed a comprehensive project for Syngenta Vegetables at their facility in Woodland, California. This project involved the design and installation of advanced irrigation and fertigation systems, water booms, commercial plumbing, and water treatment solutions for their 235,000 square foot pathology greenhouse and lab expansion. The goal was to enhance their research and development capabilities in vegetable seed technology.

Syngenta Vegetables is a leader in the agricultural sector, known for its commitment to innovation and sustainability in vegetable seed development. Our role was to ensure that their new facilities were equipped with the latest in water management technology, allowing for precise control over the growing environment, essential for the research and cultivation of high-quality vegetable seeds. The project incorporated state-of-the-art systems to optimize water usage and ensure the highest standards of sustainability and efficiency.
