From Tech to Table: Advanced Water Systems for Sustainable Agriculture

VOEKS SCOPE: IRRIGATION, WATER TREATEMENT, PROCESS WATER

For the Iron Ox project in Lockhart, Texas, we partnered with this innovative ag-tech company renowned for integrating robotics and AI into sustainable farming practices. Our project involved the installation of advanced irrigation systems and the design and implementation of water treatment and control mechanisms. This installation supports Iron Ox’s 535,000 square-foot indoor hydroponic farm, one of the largest of its kind, designed to optimize water usage and enhance crop quality through precise environmental control.

Iron Ox's facility in Lockhart is pivotal in their mission to revolutionize agriculture by increasing efficiency and reducing the environmental footprint. By utilizing robotics to handle and monitor crops, and AI to optimize growing conditions, Iron Ox aims to produce fresh, local produce for the Texas community efficiently and sustainably. Our role in setting up critical water management systems was crucial in ensuring that the high standards for sustainability and efficiency set by Iron Ox were met, enabling them to grow a variety of leafy greens, herbs, and other crops with minimal environmental impact.

This project not only supports Iron Ox's goal of making agriculture carbon-negative but also aligns with our commitment to advancing agricultural practices through innovative engineering solutions. The successful implementation at Lockhart serves as a model for future high-tech farming endeavors, showcasing the potential for technology to transform agriculture into a more sustainable, productive, and environmentally friendly industry.
